Lady Villains Visit Pennybyrn at Maryfield.
The Varsity and Junior Varsity Lady Villains made a visit to Pennybyrn at Maryfield Retirement Center in High Point on Thursday, December 22, 2005.
The visit was set-up by Varsity Assistant Coach Trish Grant. The girls were asked to bring a small gift to practice two weeks before the visit, which Coach Grant delivered.
The girls then met at Pennybyrn at Maryfield, a Catholic Retirement Home, following practice.
After a brief introduction, the Lady Villains helped the residents make Christmas Cards during the center's Arts & Crafts hour.
While some of the Lady Villains helped with Arts & Crafts, others took to the karaoke machine and sang Christmas Carols for the residents.
The girls sang five songs for the group, and got many of the staff and residents to sing with them.
December 2007:
The staff at Pennyburn at Maryfield wanted to thank the Varsity and Junior Varsity Lady Villains' Players for their gifts.
Pat and Janet, who handle the Angel Tree for Pennyburn at Maryfield, were excited for the gifts for their residents. Many of the residents of the Catholic Rest Home do not have families, or some of the families are out of state, so any gift they receive helps lifts their spirits.
The gifts were taken to Pennyburn at Maryfield on Saturday, December 15th by Assistant Coach Trish Grant and her husband Bobby.
Thank you and Merry Christmas!!!
December 2009:
Thanks to the Varsity & Junior Varsity Lady Villains for collecting and then delivering Christmas Gifts to the residents of Pennybyrn Retirement Home in High Point.
Varsity Lady Villains' Assistant Coach Trish Grant worked with the Director at Pennybyrn on purchasing gifts for the residents through the home's Angel Tree.
Each girl purchased a gift and then a few accompanied Coach Grant to the retirement home to deliver the items.
The residents and workers at the home appreciate your thoughts, gifts and efforts to make sure everyone received a present.
